Is YouTube in trouble?!?!?

(NEW YORK) —Dismissing privacy concerns, a federal judge overseeing a $1 billion copyright-infringement lawsuit against YouTube has ordered the popular online video-sharing service to disclose who watches which video clips and when.

Is the judge's decision reasonable?

it means that they may shut down youtube permanently, so watch as many videos as you can before they close it down...

okay, the situation isn't that serious yet, but if viacom wins and google loses, it is possible that youtube may be shut down, but it's probably not going to happen any time soon, if at all.

The judge's decision seems unreasonable, and that being the case, I'm pretty sure Youtube plans on appealing it. More than a few people are concerned, and any court ruling can be overturned if a higher court disagrees with the ruling.

I don't understand how the judge could dismiss privacy concerns, even though the article says that "a 1988 federal law barring the disclosure of specific video materials that subscribers request or obtain." Did the judge ignore the federal law???

By the way, I just saw "Need a new banner" thread posted by KevJumba in March 2008... it's the first KevJumba thread I have seen... lol. i didn't know he actually posted on the discussion board before. Why doesn't he post more?
