Bonjour. How many languages do you speak?

i am in Montreal right now..... i am surrounded by french speaking people and the signs are in french, but i don't speak french! help! lol.

 

the street names are so weird (Rue de Bleury, Avenue du Parc) , KFC (kentucky fried chikcen) becomes PFK, and most signs are in french (Banque de Montréal, Université du Québec , La Baie)...

 

it feels like i'm in a different country. lol.

 

so, how many languages do you speak?  does anyone speak french??

oh, and to say "i dont speak french," its --> "je ne peux pas parler [en] francais."

i will try to guess first:

Je = I
n'ai = do not?
pas = know?
parler = speak
francais = french

i hope it doesn't mean "i don't like the french" cuz i don't want to tell them that and then get into trouble... lol.

not 100% though =/

i dont speak french but i speak mandarin , fujianese, portuguese, and spanish. and english of course =D

the first phrase i would like to learn is how to say "i don't know how to speak french" in french.

when i went to buy stuff in the stores, the cashiers always told me how much in french. i just looked at the screen and paid it without saying anything. also, some people approached me and said something in french and i had no idea what to tell them.
